This surgery is used to define the face of patients having excess volume in their cheeks. It is effectively cheek reduction surgery. Bichat Bags or Bichat balls are two clusters of fat found deep within the cheeks. This surgery slims cheeks by removing these Bichat bags of buccal fat. Fat is removed via an incision on the inside of the mouth.
